Disc wheel

On the simple dirt tracks of the surrounding countryside, the village community transported their goods using four-wheeled wooden carts with detachable disc wheels like this one. Larger loads were likely transported by dugout canoes and boats along the lake. Archaeological finds also reveal elaborately decorated carts with bronze wheels, which, however, were used only on special occasions – and only by the upper classes.
