Yet they do exist: carved into rocks. The petroglyphs from the Val Camonica valley in Lombardy offer a glimpse into the daily lives of the pile-dwelling people. Their houses, fields, paths, grazing animals, and even themselves, dancing and fighting, are easily recognisable.
