Animal feed, gathered herbs and mushrooms, caught fish, fresh eggs, firewood, tools, clay for the houses, pottery, fabrics, trade goods \u2013 everything was transported or stored in a wicker basket. Whether on a cart, in a dugout canoe, on the way to market or in the house, a wicker basket was always close at hand. To ensure that the raw material for it \u2013 fresh willow shoots \u2013 constantly regrows, all that is needed is regular cutting. Then fresh shoots grow on the banks every year.
